Events are listed by date of event (or registration date if applicable). We will do our best to update the H.E.R.O. website and add events and activities of interest to homeschooling families as we are able. Please note the majority of the information will appear in the H.E.R.O. newsletter, and this is just a small sampling of what can be found in the e-newsletter.

27TH ANNUAL ARIZONA HOME EDUCATORS' CONVENTION AND CURRICULUM FAIR

This year's theme is "Children ... Gifts from God." We've got an excellent line-up of speakers including keynotes Michael Farris and Carol Barnier. Early registration closed June 23, but you can still make plans to attend and register at the door. Visit the AFHE website for more information.

JUNIOR HIGH GRADUATE RECOGNITION CEREMONY - HOSTED BY AFHE

This special evening to honor homeschooled graduates from across the state will be held the Friday evening of AFHE's annual state homeschool convention. Certificates of recognition will be given to the graduates. This event is free for family members, friends, and observers to attend. Come and see!

SUPERBOWL OF CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATE

This is the East Valley TEA Party's 2nd Open House where voters can come and meet candidates face to face, hear them speak, and ask questions! It's a great way to get a good idea of just who a candidate is and for what he/she stands. Being an informed voter is more important now, in 2010, then ever before. HOMESCHOOL MINISTRY @ CCV PARENT'S NIGHT & NEW MENTORING PROGRAM

The Homeschool Ministry at CCV is pleased to host invite you to our annual Parent's Meeting. Families will have an opportunity to connect with each other discussing issues relevant to their "season" of homeschooling and providing input on the support that they would like to have over the next year. Families will also be able to register to participate in the group and the PE class for the coming year.

We are also pleased to announce that we will be offering a new MENTORING PROGRAM this fall that serves to connect both veteran and new homeschoolers alike. See below for details.

DO HARD THINGS CONFERENCE TOUR - COMING TO SCOTTSDALE

Do Hard Things, a one-day conference tour for teens and their parents, is designed to motivate young people to rebel against the low expectations of their culture and avoid wasting their lives. The teen years aren't a vacation from responsibility. They are the training ground for future leaders who dare to be responsible now. This one day conference for teens and their parents will show you how to Do Hard Things as a team.

THE PRIDE & PREJUDICE BALL HOSTED BY WE MAKE HISTORY

Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program

The Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program is available to young Americans who have an interest in serving in their community. The program is similar to JROTC, and is available to young people 12-21 years old. We have three missions: Search and Rescue, Aerospace Education and the Cadet Program.
