East Valley Debate Club
Submitted by Andrew Bell

I am a homeschool alumnus and a Political Science and English student in the Barrett Honors College at ASU. I competed in Team Policy Debate in the homeschool National Christian Forensics and Communications Association for three years and qualified to Nationals. I have coached debate in the East Valley during this last year, and I am working to build a statewide program of homeschool Christian debate. I plan to coach this club next year, 2010-2011, and would like to gain as many new students as possible. Please contact me for details. We currently have several families who plan on participating, and we would love to have you join. Please email me with any questions you have if you are interested. This is a great opportunity for your students to learn the art of debate and all the benefits that come with it. No previous experience is needed.

WHEN: Meetings will be Fridays at 5:30 PM. We will hold a parent informational meeting on August 20, and begin regular meetings for the students the following week.

WHERE: East Valley location to be determined - probably in Tempe, Mesa, or Gilbert

COST: There are various individual costs of competing in debate, which is optional, as well as for basic supplies such as legal pads, pens, etc. Club fee details are still being determined, but any fees will be minimal.
